I Am the True Vine
Nov 8, 2020 • Jon Dooley • John 15:1-11
We are branches, connected to the vine who is Christ. "Abide in me, and I in you," Jesus says in John 15:4 (ESV). This word "abide" comes from a Greek word which means to await, to remain, to lodge, to dwell, to continue, to endure. When you're going through your day and you get to that long hill in front of you, or that phone call you've been dreading, or the news you didn't want to hear, remember that Jesus is with you and in that moment you can drink of his goodness, peace, and faithfulness. As branches of the vine we have the ability to carry God with us throughout the day. Or maybe more aptly, He carries us.
