Armed for Battle

In 1915, at the height of World War One, the Lusitania, a luxury cruiseliner, attempted to cross the Atlantic with 2,000 passengers onboard. Just days earlier, the German Embassy had warned the American public about the dangers of traveling through an active war zone and that the ship might be targeted. Paying little attention to the warning, the ship attempted the voyage from New York to Liverpool, England. Six days later, a German U-Boat torpedoed the Lusitania, sinking the ship and killing almost 1,200 passengers on board.

Whether we as Christians want to recognize it or not, the Bible says that we are living in a war zone. We engaged in a conflict. And we have an enemy. Just because we're on a 'cruise ship' doesn't mean we are immune from the battle.

In Ephesians 6:10-18, we're going to learn about the spiritual conflict that we're currently engaged in and how to be armed for the battle. What God wants us to understand is that He's made a way for us to not just survive the battle, but to take a stand and overcome!
