The Great Reconciliation

The Bible says that the gospel is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes. It’s not just power to save our souls and transform our relationship with God because we were dead in our sins and trespasses. The Gospel literally has the power to transform our relationships here on earth. 

J.D. Greear says: “The gospel is a vertical reconciliation that leads to a horizontal transformation.” 

Perhaps nowhere else in the Bible is that horizontal transformation more clearly displayed than in Ephesians chapter 2 where the Apostle Paul speaks about the powerful work God has done, in Christ, to reconcile two groups of people who for thousands of years were mortal enemies and make them family and friends!
