Mini - Retreat at Wilda: September 7-8, 2024

Greenmonte is taking a mini family vacation September 7-8, 2024, to Wilda Retreat.  Located just five minutes from Greenmonte, Wilda Retreat provides a rustic camping area and pond for all to enjoy.  There are 12 RV sites with electrical hook-ups as well as plenty of wooded and grassy areas for tent camping. The grounds include a  pond with waterslide, paddle boats, kayaks, picnic pavilion with charcoal grills, sand volleyball court, baseball field, and bathhouses. Those camping or just wanting to hang out and fellowship can arrive on Saturday the 7th, while those just wanting to come on Sunday can join us for a church service, potluck lunch, and swimming. Spend a weekend enjoying fresh air, lake activities , outdoor games, and unhurried fellowship with your church family.

Retreat Schedule
Saturday, Sept 7
9am - Campground Opens: RV and tent sites are on a first-come, first-served basis.
9am - 6:30pm - Pond Activities Open:  waterslide, paddle boats, kayaks,  and swimming.
  • The gazebo contains floats and PFDs. Kayaks and paddleboats are kept at the edge of the pond.
  • Whenever someone is swimming, there needs to be a responsible person in the lifeguard chair.
  • Pond activities will close down at 6:30pm.
9am - 9pm- Free Time: enjoying fresh air, lake activities , outdoor games, and unhurried fellowship with your church family.
7:30pm - S'more's and Camp Songs: at the main fire circle, bring a favorite camp song to share.
10pm - Quiet Time

Sunday, Sept 8
10am - Worship Service: will be held at the amphitheater.
  • Seating is limited; please bring a lawn chair or blanket. For those with mobility issues, note that the amphitheater is on a grassy slope.
11:30am - Pot Luck Lunch: will be held at the picnic pavilion.
  • Fried chicken provided, please bring a side AND dessert to share.
  • There are electrical outlets and one fridge at the Picnic Pavilion.
11:30 - 3:30pm - Free Time: enjoying fresh air, lake activities , outdoor games, and unhurried fellowship with your church family.
  • There will be lifeguards on duty at this timeframe.
  • Feel free to bring volleyballs, soccer balls, softball gear, or any other outdoor games
3:30pm -  5pm - Clean up and departure time

Camping Information:
Fees: $50/campsite - Suggested Donation, you are welcome to pay a different amount if you are unable to pay $50.
There are 12 RV sites with electrical hook-ups as well as plenty of wooded and grassy areas for tent camping. The grounds include a bathhouse has two family showers, four single showers, and two toilets. There is also a separate restroom facility. Cars are NOT allowed on the dam. However, you are welcome to walk your gear to the other side of the dam and camp there.
  • If you plan to camp you must register below.
  • Bring your own firewood.
  • Pack out all your trash.
  • Please review the campground map below.

What to Bring:
  • Please bring bug spray and sunblock.
  • All activities, including swimming, are open to overnight campers, but please be aware there will be no lifeguards on duty until Sunday after the worship service. Fishing is permitted in the lake.
  • It is recommended you bring any sports equipment you want to use; there are some bats and balls in the storage shed. 
  • Bring camping chairs or blankets for worship service and lunch.

The retreat is on private property, so you will enter on a driveway that appears to be taking you to a house, then you will swing right, away from the house and down a hill into the camping area. Address: 289 Wilda Road, Stuarts Draft
