The Greatness of Jesus

Jul 18, 2021    Seth Hankee    Colossians 1:15-23

In Colossians 1:15-23, Paul takes on those who would say that Jesus is not enough. These people didn't necessarily deny Jesus, but they dethroned him. They gave him prominence, but not preeminence. In response Paul lifts up Jesus as supreme over all things. He declares that Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn from the dead, the one by whom and for whom all things were created, and the head of the church. What more do we need if we have this Jesus, in whom all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell!
