Not of This World

"You are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world," Jesus tells his disciples (and us) in John 15:19. The "world" as Jesus describes it here has to do with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life; the ordered system of beliefs, values, and ideologies that are inspired by and under the rule of Satan. Jesus saves us out of this world and brings us to himself. He cleans us up and sends us back out into the world with the message of His love -- love for that very world which hated him and hung him on a Cross. Pastor Seth talks about what it means to join Jesus in being hated and persecuted for the gospel, and why it's cause for rejoicing!
