It's All About the Heart

Sometimes we try to look spiritual on the outside, while on the inside our hearts are far from the Lord. Jesus called out the Pharisees for this in Mark 7:1-22. When God reveals our own wicked hearts to us, it's an act of compassion and grace. He invites us to come to him for a continual cleansing as we confess our sins and receive his forgiveness, so we can walk joyfully with Him again.
