Aligning Our Perspective with Christ
In Luke 7:41, Jesus tells a parable of two people who owed money—one owed much more than the other. When neither could repay, the lender forgave both debts. Jesus then asks which debtor will love the lender more. This parable points to the depth of our awareness of sin and forgiveness: the greater our understanding of our need for mercy, the greater our love and gratitude toward the Savior.
We all need forgiveness. We all need a Savior. To embrace that, we must give up our lives as a sacrifice, just as the woman gave up her perfume in worship. When we truly see who Jesus is and what He’s done, we allow Him to take His rightful place in our lives—not just as part of it, but as the One who defines it. And through that surrender, our transformed lives can bring healing and hope to others.
