Great Expectations

In Matthew 18:21-35, Jesus tells the parable of the unforgiving servant. The key lesson is that God has shown us immense mercy, forgiving us for an immeasurable debt we could never repay. In turn, we are expected to extend that same mercy to others. The expectation is that we should treat others with the same mercy we have received from God. The mercy God offers us is far greater than any debt we could hold against someone else.
