Our Foundation
Paul begins Titus by reminding us of the foundation everything is built on: God and His truth. Paul’s identity, calling, and ministry are rooted in serving God and proclaiming the hope of eternal life—a promise made by God before time began.
The world around us can change. Circumstances can change. People can change, and even the way we do things may change. But none of it ultimately matters if we are building our lives on the wrong foundation.
Our foundation is not our circumstances, our feelings, our success, or the opinions of others. Our foundation is the character and promise of God.
And we can stand firmly because we serve a God who does not lie. What God has promised, He will fulfill. Our hope is secure because the One we have built our lives upon is faithful, trustworthy, and unchanging.
Things may change, but the foundation does not. We stand on the promise of a God who does not lie.
