The Power of Our Words

The words we speak are powerful! Proverbs 18:21 says that "death and life are in the power of the tongue." On average, you and I speak about 10,000 words a day. Which means we have hundreds of opportunities every day for our words to bring life and build people up, or to speak death and to tear them down. And if we profess to be followers of Jesus, then our speech needs to be consistent with the faith that we profess. In James 3, we're challenged to consider how to handle the power of our words in a way that glorifies Christ and confirms the faith we profess.
